After introducing the principle of range multi-beam Synthetic Aperture Radar(SAR) and analyzing its ambiguity characteristics by through the comparison with conventional single-beam SAR，this paper presents an efficient algorithm to calculate the ambiguities of space-borne range multi-beam SAR systems. Simulation results show that the range multi-beam SAR provides an effective way to high- resolution and wide-swath imaging.
