Abstract:Luneburg lens antennas with high gain, low sidelobe and broadband properties, can achieve multi-beam, large scanning angle, etc. They have extensive applications in satellite communications, electronic warfare, etc. However, its bulky and heavy shape limits the practical application. A new type of all-dielectric Planar Luneburg lens has been proposed, based on the principle of optical transform, with a radius of 60 mm, a thickness of 20 mm. At 15 GHz, the antenna gain is 23 dB, the half-power beam width 12°, the first side lobe level is below -23 dB. Also the planar and circular feed arrays are designed, achieving a good multi-beam performance in about 70° range.
