The important influence of cloud on climate change, and the common remote sensing method of cloud measurement are introduced, then the absorption spectra of THz wave and the scattering characteristics of cloud particles are studied. By comparing with the traditional cloud detection technology, the advantages of space-borne terahertz cloud radar are analyzed. Finally, the feasibility analysis of the radiation source for space-borne terahertz cloud radar is presented.
